Flowers again. Don't Know why. Having fun with a bunch of crazy and very old nibs (1920s-1930s).This one is an Esterbrook 805. Funny to think that Bud Fisher was still in his prime when they made these nibs and so was E.C. Segar.

Self-Portrait in Milos

Let's take a short break from the gloomy world of E.A. and let me take you to the beautiful Greek island of Milos. The coolest people and the most delicious grilled sardines in the Mediterranean. Here you see a picture of the artist minutes before he disrobed and jumped in the clearest, sweetest, warmest water ever known by a floating human body. This sketch was made with a japanese G-pen nib. Still trying to get the hang of it.

It's all true. A little venture into autobiographical cartooning. I started this six years ago while living in Columbus, Ohio and only finished it tonight. You might have recognized the last panel as the current banner image of this blog.

Nkt Notoni plays Casual 6 Live at CPA Fi-Sud Firenze

This is a live performance from 2008, I think. Solo guitar. Opening for Jealousy Party. My first try with iMovie. Just a bunch of my drawings and some of my pictures thrown together. Still waiting for my middle finger to heal and to be able to play again. Maybe this is a good time to look back and polish the old audio archives.

I Went for a Walk Today.

A page from the comic story that broke me: "I Went for a Walk Today". I worked on it on and off for years. Started in Providence RI, continued in Athens GA and then in Long Island. Then at about 35 pages long it struck me: the story, improvised on a loose idea was not worth the effort, the artwork had gotten better through the years so that the first 10 pages would need redrawing. And most of the lettering needed fixing. And I also understood that working on a comic book story it's not like working on a novel, where you can delete a phrase here or there, get rid of a paragraph or a chapter; with comics the editing options - on a macro scale - are very limited.
    The story had some cool elements, though. It was set in Providence in the '90s, it featured some of my favorite hang outs, the Safari Lounge, Fort Thunder and a few of those crazy mills where music was played, and also some of my favorite local bands, among which the wonderful Manbeard. It -inevitably - had some nods to Lovecraft, a crazy secret cult, giant crab-creatures and a statue of Sun Ra. I put a lot of stuff in it that I was registering while living in my beloved/hated Providence. For some reason the plot also involved Ron Jeremy. I don't know why. One of the reasons why in the end I decided to put this baby to sleep, I guess.
