Mercato Centrale 1

These are a few strips I drew for the "Mercato Centrale" album by the Burp Enterprise band Jealousy Party. The album was supposed to come with a booklet containing a collective story drawn by the Burp collective, but the project was shelved. I drew about four strips, here are the first 2. The album "Mercato Centrale" is still coming out soon though! For more info check the Jealousy Party page on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/JEALOUSY-PARTY/103984493033225
or the Burp Publications site in the link section on the right. The Mercato centrale in the second strip is indeed the one in the center of Florence in Italy, a cool place to buy vegetables, drink Aperol for breakfast, and look at entrails of various slain animals.

Eugene Chadbourne Sushi

Wow! This is old stuff folks! I drew this in 1997 while living in sweet Charlottesville, Virginia. I organized the show for Eugene and opened for him with a Virginian version of my band Nicotina and the Legs. We played in the basement of a sushi restaurant called Tokio Rose. Eugene showed up with his Insect and Western Party trio, played a fantastic show (including some beautiflu Satie covers for deranged banjo), and then stayed over at my place and read comics all night long. If you don't know Eugene Chadbourne's music and you are a daring listener you owe it to yourself to discover one of the most important American guitarsts and composers of the last four decades. Here's his website: www.eugenechadbourne.com
